The Müller-Guttenbrunn Group isn’t just a leader in recycling. When it comes to team spirit and team-building, the company has also become a true expert in recent years. Over the past few months, there have once again been a number of exciting team events on the agenda, in which many staff members took part.
Working together – celebrating together
A much-loved gathering that has become a fixture on the Müller-Guttenbrunn Group’s events calendar in recent years is the annual Metrec barbecue. It is a way of saying ‘thank you’ to the staff who carry out their work with enthusiasm and total dedication. That afternoon—for the first time in May—only the best grilled foods were served: chicken, roast meat, pork chops, vegetables—everything your heart could desire. And the drinks fridge was well stocked too.
Business-Run in Ardagger
On 11 June, a number of employees from the Müller-Guttenbrunn Group took part in the Business Run in Ardagger. In doing so, they demonstrated not only their sporting ambitions but also the team spirit that is fostered within the company. Running together not only brings people closer, it’s also fun and motivates people to give their very best. Although the weather was not on the running event’s side, the organisers were able to report a record number of participants. Among the 72 registered teams were a women’s and a men’s team from the Müller-Guttenbrunn Group: the ‘Heavy Metal Runners’ with Katrin Bühringer, Lisa Rainer and Helga Berger, and the ‘Recycling Rockets’ with Maximilian Müller-Guttenbrunn, Maximilian Hager and Daniel Forstner. They lined up together at the start, braved the weather and completed the course with flying colours. The final placing is of secondary importance here – team spirit triumphed!

Crossing the finish line together – a victory for the MGG team spirit.
Heat-filled battle at the Kart track in Blindenmarkt
It wouldn’t be summer without the MGG Kart Trophy. This year, the event took place on 20 June. The race took place at the Blindenmarkt karting track. Temperatures were high, and spirits were high too. Eleven teams lined up at the start, whilst spectators cheered on their favourites from the terrace. The big winner of the day was … the entire Müller-Guttenbrunn Group team!
It was clear from the outset: it was going to be a hot day! Temperatures were already climbing in the early hours of the morning. From 7.00 am, drivers, organisers and spectators gathered at the karting track in Blindenmarkt. After a brief organisational briefing, practice began, followed by qualifying. This was followed by a short break, during which everyone refuelled for the race. Alongside plenty of drinks, garlic and bacon breadsticks were on offer for everyone. Many of the drivers were already gratefully making use of the cooling towels that Alexandra Müller-Guttenbrunn had organised as ‘goodies’. Afterwards, the teams – much to everyone’s delight, Unger and 2nd Cycle were also taking part for the first time this year – lined up on the starting grid. A heated race lay ahead of them, and not just because of the summery temperatures. Now it was all about speed, concentration and stamina. No mistakes allowed – not even in the pits or during driver changes! Thrilling duels, spectacular overtaking manoeuvres and plenty of action created a real motorsport atmosphere. Lap times were significantly slower than last year. After a three-hour battle in the heat, the Metall Recycling team came out on top and secured a place on the podium. Behind them, two Metran teams took second and third places.
After the prize-giving ceremony – which, of course, wouldn’t have been complete without a champagne shower – the outdoor kitchen was set up. Everyone reflected on the race together and brought the day to a cosy close. The big winner of the event was team spirit, which is a top priority at Müller-Guttenbrunn and can be felt even outside the daily work routine. Thanks to the organisers and the company management for this brilliant event!
